Mission Statement
The Westside Ministers Coalition, WMC of Chicago INC., is an organization whose pupose is to work in cooperation with other organizations sharing similar values in accomplishing our goal which is to explore and initiate self-help efforts to improve the Westside communities of Chicago in the areas of housing, health, energy, education, economics and community development.
WMC History
WMC was founded in 1978, as an extended arm of the Westside Ministers Conference, for the purpose of being a political outlet for the Ministers on the West Side of Chicago. The Coalition would disseminate information to their, “Minister’s congregations,” concerning various political issues. Soon WMC discovered “everything” that happened in Chicago is politically related in some aspect. With that in mind, the WMC knew, merely sending information to various congregations was not enough.
Founding Members
Rev. Aaron and Margaret Jamal
WMC goes "Hands On"
In the early 1990’s, the WMC made a change in order to effectively address the needs and issues of the “total” person. We knew in order to make this change, the WMC had to readjust our mode of operations to become a “hands on” endeavor.

As concerns arise, we methodically, and strategically respond by providing regular forums to address, evaluate and implement solutions that impact positive growth. We also provide spiritual illuminations that encourages, positive, educational enhancement, behavioral modifications, and community involvement.
